My Garden / Re: November garden

The lane alongside our property is ankle deep in leaves, but there is so much unpleasant litter, dog mess etc. in them that I would not collect them. Mind I have already filled our 6 by6 by 6 heap and two ton bags and started on the third with just the ones that fall on the garden.
One is supposed to leave the ones on the soil, but to me 6 inches deep layers do not help the plants, especially when they are sheltering hundreds of slugs. Worms are supposed to take them down into the soil, but not here.
We have not had much rain but the leaves are still dry enough to blow into piles. Hard work otherwise.

I thought I was the only one who bothered to compost them!
I was lucky one year to see council workers gathering and bagging them for removal. They agreed to let me fill the car with the bags.
After a couple of years I spread them around my azaleas. Big bags but small volume when composted!
I have a lot to gather up around here. Not much rain but still so wet at present from dew and mizzle so not a pleasant job.
I have a vacuum/blower but it doesn't work too good when leaves are wet!

Definitely compost the leaves. I have about a ton of last year's leaf mould waiting to be used.

Would love to be able to get hold of it. My mother-in-law had it in her garden, and I really liked it then. No-one round here seems to sell it.
We have a tried few Leucanthemums, but like for you they seem very difficult to get them to establish. Molluscs play havoc with them.
