Not a lot else to do other than garden. No ideas for stories at the moment and in any case my neck is so painful that typing is most uncomfortable.

Amazingly beautiful Eric.
You must spend a lot of time in the garden to have such a wide ranges of plants growing splendidly and so well maintained.

General Discussion / First snowdrops and then first snow
« Last post by ideasguy on January 18, 2023, 10:55:34 AM »
I spotted our first snowdrops on Monday (16th Jan 23) - a welcome sight!

Last night at bedtime I looked out to a covering of snow and this morning we had a couple of inches. Our grandchildren in Belfast were excited. We have more here in our more rural location, so building a snowman would be easy!
Hope its still there when they get out of school!
I can remember looking out of the classroom window when I was at school hoping it would not disappear before I got home and out with my sleigh!

I put lots of food out on the ground and in feeders for the birds late afternoon yesterday and I can see them excavating.
At least it may warm them up!

Stay safe and stay warm!

Sorry for the misunderstading. In my post "NY" meant "New Year" not "New York"! (though I was in Mew York earlier, we left Dec 21; we enjoyed it very much.

Its cold enough in New York without having a nasty cold to make matters worse.
Hope you feel better soon Barry so you can enjoy your holiday.
What is the weather like? We saw the TV news coverage of the severe snow storm recently from Canada right down the US.

Oddly, Mary's appetite was not affected while she was feeling low. She (and we) enjoyed our respective meals.

Hope you enjoyed your meal (especially Mary - though I suppose she didnt have much appetit after the flu).

Same to you from me (though I am not enjoying NY very much as I have a nasty cold which has provoked an asthmatic reaction - I have suffered from that for 30 years and it always passes  OK once I take the right drugs...!)

Hope we all have a good (better!) year...

Here's wishing all our members a Very Happy New Year.

My wife had a flu over Christmas and wasn't able to join the family on a Christmas dinner in our local pub restaurant on Boxing Day.
It lingered all week (aches, tiredness and a recurring headache) but I'm pleased to say she has is feeling much better today and we are all going for a New Years dinner/family gathering in a lovely restaurant in Belfast close to my sons house.

Happy New Year :)
