How to Disable Seeing Weather Stickers on Postings (For Dial-Up Users Especially)If you don?t want to see weather on post signatures, you can disable the signature line (which is where the weather sticker is located).
1. Open and login to the Ideas Genie Community Forum.
2. Click on the
Profile Box (4th from left on the line under the search box). Page will change.
3. In the
Modify Profile box on the left, click on
Look and Layout Preferences. Page will change.
4. Click on the 4th checkbox down: ?Don?t show users? signatures?
5. Click on the
Change Profile box on the lower right side of screen.
You will be free of all signature content on all postings once you?ve made this change.
How to Add a Weather StickerThe Forum Part1. Open and login to the Ideas Genie Community Forum.
2. Click on the
Profile Box (4th from left on the line under the search box). Page will change.
3. In the
Modify Profile box on the left, click on
Forum Profile Information. Page will change.
4. Scroll down to the Signature section?and keep the page open.
The Weather Station Part1. Open a new tab on your browser
2. Go to the website Weather Underground
http://www.wunderground.com/3a. Enter Your Location: the top of the page has a search box in white where you have the options to enter: Zip, City, State, Airport Code, Country. If in the USA you only need to enter the ?zip?; if outside the USA enter your ?city, country?.
3b. Keep the adjoining box on the default ?Weather Conditions?
3c. Click the
Go button. Page will change.
4. The resulting page shows your location. If not, there will be a list of choices from which you select your nearest location. This is especially true for small communities. Typically, the nearest airport observation is shown.
5a. Scroll down about 2/3 of the page on the left side to find the
Free Weather Stickers® for Your Homepage! box
5b. Click the yellow ?
Get Your Weather Sticker? in that box. Page will change.
6. Click the first Weather Sticker shown called ?
Big Weather Sticker II?. Page will change.
7. Now you?re on the HTML source code page for your sticker. Scroll down to the 3rd choice, ?English/Metric (F°/C°)? code (as this is an international forum)
8. Carefully
select and
copy all the multiple lines of code shown in the ?English/Metric (F°/C°)? box.
Putting Them Together1.
Paste the copied code into the signature box. Double check that all the code has been copied correctly. (Don?t use spell check!)
2. Click on the
Change Profile box on the lower right side of screen.
Ta-Da and Voilà! All your posts will show the current weather at your location in your signature box.
