Its been a while, but after working on Bank Genie for so long, Ive been very busy adding new features to
Ideas Genie Pro 6 for almost a year now.

Roba from Belgium is an ardent user and has presented me with numerous challenges!
In response, I have added additional features.
If you grow plants from seed in the greenhouse, grow plants in containers each summer, plant what you have grown out in the garden, then you will find the new features very useful.

For a description of the new features, please login to the forum (to show youve been here!) and see my follow up posting in this topic.

NOTE: You need Ideas Genie Pro 6 for these latest updates.
If you have an older version you can upgrade by clicking here:

Here are some of the new features:
  • Ive added all the Bonsai Genie programs into Ideas Genie.
These are to allow you to work with the delights you sow or grow in Pots and Containers
  • The program Specimens-GA629 has been reworked extensively to allow users to work with Pots and Containers.
  • Extended ability - you can record the fill details of individual pots or containers (as before) but now you can have multiple pots/containers  of the same type.
e.g you have/buy 10 trays for sowing a variety of seed, you have/buy 100 small pots for potting up a variety of seedlings, or 50 medium size pots to pot them on.
  • Record photos of your beautiful display of plants in your containers.
  • Record events in the growing process - when seed are sown, when they are potted up, potted on, planted in the garden.
  • When Tasks heve been created for specimens e.g. Sow Seed, Pot on, Plant Out, the latest updates have been programmed to integrate events recorded in Specimens-GA629 with those Tasks and record them as Complete.
  • Record the plants you select to fill, empty (e.g. when expired at end of summer) and then refill your pots and containers next year, keeping a history of the previous fill.
  • Since history of each fill is recorded, you can look back on your containers from previous years - what plants you put in them with as many photos as you wish.
e.g. Take a photo after planting your specimens in containers. You can lasso the images identifying the plants used and the planting arrangement - easier to see when just planted.
  • Record details of your pots and containers collection:
quantity (per container), size, material, origin etc and photos of each pot/container
As you know, pots for Bonsai specimens can be expensive.

You need the Ideas Genie Pro 6 for these latest updates.

Robert (Roba on the forum) has been rigorously testing as I developed the features in response to his new challenges.

The updates have not been published yet for general download using the Check for Updates programin Ideas Genie - but will be available after the final testing by -You!
I'm currently working on the User Guide to explain.

If you'd like to be one of the first to try these latest updates, or indeed if you don't have Ideas Genie, please send me an email.
I will send you download links and instructions to help you get started.

Sounds very interesting and useful. Being able to document trays of seedlings from birth to flowering will be very helpful.
