Master Database on CD
« on: March 06, 2012, 09:21:29 AM »
I'm sure if I read through the User Guide I would find the answer, but I'm impatient!!!!!!  I have just loaded the Master Database on CD to my C drive successfully but cannot see any photographs.  Have I done something wrong or is that the case.  Not really a problem as I can always import them - just trying to save a bit of research!  George it must have taken years to import all those plants - you have such patience.

Hi Jacqui

You should be able to see all photos.
All plants don't have photos unfortunately. Over 2000 do, but I'd need a few more years of patience to get that up to the 36,000 in the Master Database!

When you use the program: Tools> Switch Databases - GA026.
Does it show IG Master in the pop-up?

If yes, its either the Downloaded database, or the database you've restored from the DVD.
The Master database should be installed in the folder:
c:\igdata_sets\igmaster\igdata
That location is recognised by Ideas Genie, and will appear in the popup in GA026.
If you look in that folder using the program My Computer/Windows Explorer, you should see a long list of dbf, cdx and fpt files.
Look for the file picheads.fpt (it contains the disc photos)
If its file size is 1,408,975 (or bigger) then you have installed the DVD correctly.
If its much smaller, then you are looking at the downloaded Master database.
