Great set of photos there Eric - thanks for sharing them with us.

Very cheery indeed  ;D

Rain here too I'm afraid.  Went out this morning for a walk in the forest, got as far as Holmsley, heard a Cuckoo, then it started to rain.
Got very heavy after that so decided to come home again and try later.

By lunchtime the rain had stopped so went out again.  Stayed dry for the rest of the afternoon.

Not getting any gardening done at the moment, and not much sign of the rain letting up just yet  ::)

Laurie.

Yes, I needed that Eric! Thanks for posting and cheering me up.
I didn't know Dicentra was a "dated" name. Its going to take some time to get used to the name Lamprocapnos ::)
Make note: More changes required in Master Database - I'll check that all out when I have more time.

You have many exceptional and stunning plants in your collection Eric. I am so impressed, not to mention envious!
I have a lot of questions - start with this - do you grow your Lewisia outdoors?
I have tried them a few times in my "rockery" outdoors but they never make it to year 2.
Ive bought another one last week (couldn't resist its lovely markings) - Any tips?

Never managed to grow them outside myself. These are in the greenhouse and always watered from below. Well drained compost in a clay pot and not too much water in winter. Wish I could grow them better.

Thats obviosuly what I'm doing wrong!
The new Lewisia plant is sitting on the patio at present, shivering in this VERY cold and wet weather. I'll move it into the greenhouse ASAP. We had a very heavy shower of hailstones mid week - in fact it caused a local power failure. I was 10 miles from home and missed it! My wife tells me she feared the blocks of ice  :o would damage the car! Poor plants in the garden - they must wonder just what is going on this spring.

Thanks again Eric!

Wonderful, Eric! Lovely photos of beautiful plants. Here the ground is too sodden to work on, both ponds (whose normal level is four inches down) have been full to overflowing for days, and we have a HOSEPIPE BAN!!!  ;D
