Many thanks to Eric

Eric has been giving me a few tips on how to get the best out of my Canon 450.
Fortunately, Eric has one of exactly the same model so settings are totally identical and tips are entirely relevant.

Heres a batch of photos taken with Erics recommendations.

My Japanese maples:

Acer palmatum 'Tsuma Gaki'

and now a few garden photos taken with Erics recommendations:

I took this to show the combination I "planned" tee hee.
Spiraea japonica 'Goldflame' and  :-[ :-[ :-[ Forget-me-nots
They really do look stunning together. Hope the photo does some justice


I was having trouble taking photos of plants with white flowers.
Heres one of my favourite combinations - Red Campion and Iberis sempervirens 'Snowflake'


Heres a close up of Iberis sempervirens 'Snowflake'


and a wider view (as I said in another post - it is very floriferous)


Close up of Red Campion. Its pink to me - dont know why it has a red tag:


A test photo for getting some definition and clarity in white yellow and orange colours.
Before, they were a blur. This is much better


The setting sun peeped out, so I had a go at these tulips, enjoying a little sunlight

No stopping me now, Eric! Thabks once again. Still some experimenting to do, but I love those settings you gave me.
Mind you, I have a lot of things to plant before I can get to taking a Garden Tour like Eric (palustris) does from time to time.

Yes, and I think I need a lot of practice Laurie, but it was great to receive those tips from Eric.
I'm determined to learn how to get the best out of that Canon camera.

Great set of photos and nice collection of plants. :)
I also have a cannon 450D it will be interesting to see how you get on with it.
