Very good article, representing the feeling of a patient gardener against quick money-making. Very recognizable, I'm afraid. The same development here in Belgium, but luckily not yet a quotum of 50 houses on an acre.

Yes, it was touching, but unfortumately its very much a case of "C'est la vie."
I've no doubt it will happen to my own site at some time. I'm now on 2/3rds an acre of prime building land. The land on the other side of the my unpopulated boundary has been sold to a propery developer.
