I wonder why they were bestowed with the name 'Diamond Ring'?

I suspect Narcissus are underestimated. Common they are not - there are so many quite exquisite varieties available to us gardeners at really quite low cost. I buy new varieties every year and have a nice mixture. Needless to say we love spring here ;D
My wife likes to cut them in bud. They open up in one or two days indoors and we consider them a favourite cut flower (we, one of many :D) Some have a faint but beautiful scent.
