QT is a rather ancient video player no longer maintained by Apple and comes with a set of peculiarities. For instance it will only play mp4 video formats once they have been subjected to a reform. I have recently removed it from my setup following an advisory on the web that it contains a number of vulnerabilities and since then cannot persuade Ideas Genie to play any video files as it appears to call QT by default.
Would it be a thought to update Ideas Genie to a more modern video player which is still under development/improvement?
