Exporting Quicken from a Windows10 Virtual machine

I have just purchased Bank Genie and wish to import the data from my Quicken 2004 installation. Unfortunately it would only run in Windows 10 under a virtual window, which involved using Hyper-V. I cannot persuade the virtual window running Quicken to see the "outside world" of my laptop drives or USB ports. Can anybody advise on how to do this so I can copy my QIF files to a place where Bank Genie can see them?

Chris, I run Quicken on Windows 10 without having to use Hyper-V. I don't even know that that is! Quicken will run normally in 10 but it requires the addition of some extra files to make it do that. Have you installed those files?

Are you able to run Quicken 'normally' without resorting to Hyper-V?

I have no experience of Windows 10 (I am staying on Windows 7 as long as I can).

The previous post suggests that it is possible to make Quicken run natively on Windows 10 which is obviously your best bet. In the absence of that: provided you trust me I would be prepared to let you send me your files and the source of Quicken 2004 and do the production of QIF files for you.

I cannot run Quicken without Hyper-V. I haven't installed any files additional to the standard Quicken installation. Where can I find the files to which you refer, please?

Using "Hyper-V" do you have internet access? If so you could email the files somewhere

I now have all my Quicken folder files from the VM in a folder on my C drive by means of mounting the VM and copying across. So far, so good.

Chris, I just sent you the details in response to your query. I don't know if you have received it as I think it went via the 'Personal Messages' which I cannot see how to access to see if it has been sent!

How do I access personal messages? I did read an answer that said look under User Info but I don't seem to have that!

It was under the "My Messages" tab when I logged in. When I sent mine, however, I had to specifically opt to keep a message in my outbox so if you didn't, perhaps you can't see them once sent?
