Early signs of Spring in the garden

While working in the garden today noticed Sping is not too far away.

May I be so bold as to ask for plant names?

With my winter projects in full swing, I'm not quite ready for spring yet.
Mind you, the next year I am ready for spring will be the first in this millennium

Narcissus Spring Dawn is now in flower.
The first picture to add to the Wpg this year, only another 70 to go.

Beautiful photo. Did you use a flash? I see a little shadow in the corolla - perhaps its, er sunshine Not much of that over here this past week and more in gloomy Ireland

Yes I did use flash on the camera.
Quite gloomy here today,yesterday was bright, so got on with a few jobs in the garden, dividing some monarda, from which we have at least 40 plants for sale in 2 or 3 litre pots now. Also repotted about 17 Dahlias into new soil, and bigger pots if required.

No names for the Hamamelis, they came as generic Red and Yellow.

If the sun ever shines again and I can stop shivering I will go  and take some pictures of the Snowdrops etc. Thursday for the Xray and prognosis.

And sorry Malcom, but No. 3 of yours is not an Aconitum 'Arendisii, it is a Winter Aconite, Eranthis hyemalis (possibly cilicius though).

It shows I should know better, looking through our Wpg looking for a Aconite and finding the Aconitum.

No problem Malcolm.  The Gold Stars I award are well-earned by the particular recipients, and are retained by said people forever.

We are all entitled to accidentally mis-name plants, otherwise we wouldn't be human. 

It's great to see you are having such wonderful early displays of plants in your garden Malcolm.  Our gardens are still looking quite raggy and bare with plenty of 'no-shows' up to now - so no photos yet.

As we're moving house this year we're not planning any new planting schemes here.  Once our existing plants start to bloom there will be a good display for our new buyer.

Will have to be cutting back some of our Clematis and Verbena Bonariensis soon so that they do well again.

We planted some spring bulbs last year so they should be on their way up soon to give some early colour.

I wouldn't go so far as to say "Wonderfull early displays" in the garden, just a few round and about, we certainly couldn't, open the garden as a Spring garden.

Yes time to prune those Clem's, we did ours a fortnight or so ago, having a bit of an experiment this year, cutting the group 2 down harder than we normally do. We don't mind later flowers on these.

I have been rather quiet of late and have just seen these wonderful signs of spring with Malcolm and Eric's lovely photos. We are not quite as far ahead but we do have quite a nice display of snowdrops to cheer us up.
