New vegetable garden
« on: April 24, 2008, 10:18:59 PM »
After as few months of listening to Wonderwoman :) (what a gal) I finally succumbed and built a number of raised beds for the vegetables this year
This should help with drainage as we have been having serious problems with the increased rainfall and the much higher water table
Last year a row of peas actaully drowned and died :(

That looks like a very beautiful plot you've built there (you always have to listen to "wonderwomen" and keep them happy)  ;)

I can't help admiring your greenhouse as well - puts our puny 6 foot x 6 foot to shame.  Plenty of room for all your plants there.

Kathy and I don't grow our own vegetables, as we don't eat enough of them to make it worthwhile, but it's still nice to see what other people are up to - a sort of 'nosey neighbour' ploy you might say.  :D

What vegetables are you going to grow?

Let us see more photos as your vegetables begin to bear their 'fruits'.

Good luck with your veggie crops.

Laurie.

We are not the greatest vegetable eaters either, but nothing beats fresh from the garden
I already have asparagus appearing (you can just spy them on the front right bed)
Peas, carrots, parsnips, onions, leeks, parsley, spring onions, lettuce and sometimes celery
Tomatoes and peppers in the greenhouse
We used to grow sweetcorn but stopped as we don't eat it much
Same with courgettes and cucumbers
