Good Gardens around Manchester
« on: July 06, 2008, 11:27:46 AM »
Good news this week.
Congratulations to Tara, I call her my favourite daughter (she has two brothers, no sisters tee hee)
My little pet has passed her Masters exams at Manchester University, and graduates on Monday 14th July.
My wife and I are flying over for a 4 day break to stay in her apartment.
The itinerary:
Fly out very early on Saturday.
Shopping on Saturday
Visit a garden on Sunday
Graduation ceremony on Monday
Free on Tuesday (more shopping?)
Fly home Tuesday evening

Has anyone any recommendations on which garden to visit on the Sunday? Tara and her friend have a car, so anything with reasonable travelling distance.
Tara has suggested Tatton Park (gosh, I was so chuffed (Manchester/Coronation Street speak?) that she KNEW about Tatton)
The RHS Flower Show is the following week, but the gardens have a great reputation, and the info on the web looks good:

Heres another Ive been considering (Arley hall and gardens):

Suggestions and recommendations would be much appreciated

Great news George.  Please pass on to her our congratulations too.  ;D

We can't help you with places to visit in Manchester though, as it's not a part of the country we're familiar with.  :(

Have a fantastic time, and hopefully someone else may have some suggestions for you for places to visit.

Laurie.
