A question on printing out garden areas of a genus in the garden.

It may be I have forgotten how to do this. 

We should have 15 different Helenium in the garden, other than looking up which garden area each one is in, is there any way one can print all 15 out with garden area.

Surprisingly, not exactly like that 

Normally such lists are associated with a task, and that is catered for
Use GA004 to create a Care item for Helenium e.g. Fertilise, say March
Then use the Tasks program GA047
Click the Generate Care Tasks button (top right of screen)
In screen GA047S02, select the respective month (March in this example)
Click the Generate button
Helenium will appear in the list of items requiring care.
Add a new Task and description
Add each of your Helenium varieties to the task
Back in GA047S01, click the Dates/Notes button
Select a Date(s) for the task
Back in GA047S01, click the Print button
Plants will show Garden Area in the report

Do you require the list to do a task on that Genus?
If yes, then this is perfect.

Not exactly a task George, just wanted a list of the Helenium with garden areas so I can try to find them in the garden. Easy if they were all in flower.

In the scheme of things in IG  and IG Pro, each plant is a specimen.
That allows you to input info like where you bought the specimen, how much it cost, etc.
The Specimens feature thus allows you to keep track of multiple specimens of a particular variety e.g. 'Moerheim Beauty'
Thus, you may have 'Moerheim Beauty' in more than one bed, and be able to track its origin and plant care etc.

For the enquiry/request you have made, I would prefer to add such a report based on Specimens.
Do you set your plants up as Specimens in your database?

Now you've started the discussion, thats a genus I don't have in my garden. Is it fully hardy with you?

I haven't set up the plants as specimens George, something else to look at, I haven't used that part ot the programme, like a lot of other parts that are hidden away, or not so hidden as Species.

We have lost some Heleniums in the past, but find some are better than others. I have just nipped round the "Estate" here to count how many we have, and we do have 15 in 11 different names.

Have been there 3 times in the past, they have a national collection.
Heleniums give a good display, we do dead head them, and they come again.

If you want the names of the ones that do well here, let me know.

May I make a suggestion, so its a "permanent"  and easily referenced?

Let me know when you are ready to try specimens. Its quite easy, but of course you need time to source the information you enter there.
Its much easier to add Specimen records as soon as you buy a plant, or grow from seed.

That means you have multiple specimens of the same Plant variety, so specimens is a good idea for you.
