You might not like the colour but..........

The flower is at least 7inches across, or 180cm in new money.

The plant was bought early spring this year, just a rootstock really, with about 1 inch of trunk above ground.

Do you like it or not, obviously would be wrong in a herbaceous bed, but great for me in the exotic garden 

Hibiscus newbiscus Mauvelous          Plant finder doesn't list this as far as I can see.

Well, I love the colour Malcolm. In fact pink is my favourite colour in the garden.
It must be one heck of a talking point for visitors to your garden! Those blooms are massive!

Ive had a trawl through all 8 pages of Hibiscus on the RHS web site and I don't see it listed either.
Did a google and here it is:

I see Eyecatcher, Red Sky and White Heaven.
I'd say they are all eye catchers

First flower today, so just Lyn and me have seen it.............and of course, you as well now George.

Will take a picture of whole plant when the next flower opens.

Thinks.....................so only another 1100 photos of the whole plants in our garden to do, and add to the wpg

Had another look at the plants on that web site. If I had to choose one, it would be the one you picked. Its really pretty.
With a 1in trunk, its a sturdy plant Malcolm.
Since its hardy, will you risk it outdoors over winter? I take it it is in a pot at this stage?
