I agree with Laurie, how do you keep on top of that large garden. Its looks very well maintained - a credit to you and your wife!
I love those Asters and Gentians Eric.
Asters do really well here. They establish and spread easily. I divided my favourites a number of times and have them in different parts of the garden. I don't have any white varieties. From the photos, am I right in saying you have shown two varieties of white?
I have not (yet!) succeeded with Gentians. Ive bought a number of Gentiana sino-ornata over the years but they don't return reliably.
Ive tried Gentiana saxosa (the white species) and it didn't do well.
Gentiana septemfida was the easiest. It kept going for years, but finally it was lost in the canopy of a plant which is supposed to be tender- Phygelius aequalis (a deep pink variety) which survived and spread in my border.
Any tips on growing the Gentians Eric?
