Lovely weather here too, George. The car thermometer said 28 degrees when we got in it at lunch time
but that was probably because it had been standing in the sun. Having driven a couple of miles it showed 25 degrees, but still a respectable temperature.
Unfortunately we have a hosepipe ban
so each evening I am having to fill the watering can ten times and walk, can in one hand and walking stick in the other making sure our newly planted out runner beans, outdoor tomatoes, sweet peas, rocket and lettuce don't dry out. They were propagated by Anthea in the greenhouse but it is my responsibility to see they survive now
We are now at an age that we can't get by without a little occasional help. Our chap Ian came yesterday but after a couple of hours completely succumbed to the heat. In fact it made him physically sick. He had to lie down in our summer house to recuperate.
In another post I mentioned that the heat is encouraging unwanted blanket weed and duckweed to grow on our ponds almost as you watch it. I had another session removing it with my newly made long handled net.
