Cotoneaster horizontalis?
« on: November 16, 2012, 12:19:32 AM »
... more like Cotoneaster verticalis ;D ;D
It does get the reputation of doing both, but in any case, what a spectacular show it puts on at this time of year (mid November).
Its vivid red! I went closer to see if it was its red berries, but no, its the tiny leaves, a deep green in summer.
The blackbirds take the berries around this time, and in December. Its been stripped of most of the berries already this year, and it was well loaded a few weeks ago.
Here's the pics (in the foreground is the lovely golden foliage of Fuchsia 'genii' - a great combination as you can see:-
