Ability to 'memorise' a Transaction in BG
« on: April 27, 2013, 09:58:01 AM »
Hi George,

In both MS Money and Quicken (and Quickbooks!) there is a function whereby one can create a Standing Order or Direct Debit transaction (ie a 'memorised transaction) directly from an account entry. How easy would it be to add this functionality to BG?

Thanks for taking up my cue and posting this Mike ;)

As I mentioned in our email exchange earlier, it should be easy enough.

I'm going to ask users for their input!
Where (screen number) would you like to initiate that feature?
How would you like it to be offered?
It would be too niggly to be prompted every time you add a transaction (in my opinion).

Not to muddy the issue but Quicken actually means something else by "memorised transaction"; it ia set of such things that are used to autofilll a transactin being created and nothing to do with a standing order/direct debit.

In answer to the question it does sound like a useful (if probably little used) feeature.  It could be a right click option in either or both BS421 or BS408.

I see it as a right click option on a transaction in BS421 George.

Thanks Mike and Barry

Yes, I could easily do that under right in BS408S01 and BS421S01. Would that be OK for all?

Tip:
Incidentally, does everyone know that there is additional functionality under right click (on a transaction) in both those screen already?
