Itoh

Who knows the Itoh peonies? They are the work of Toicho Itoh who made a crossing between a real tree peony and a herbaceous one. They gave vigorous young plants.  Unfortunately for mister Itoh he didn't live to see his creations flowering. When he died in 1956 his assistent Shigao Oshida continued his work. The Itoh's behave like herbaceous plants and retire themselves under the soil each winter, their leaves are those of the tree peonies. They have a long flowering time and reach a height of circa 1 meter.
They are also called intersectional hybrids and are supposed to have a bright future.

I dont see Yellow Crown on his web site, but perhaps Yellow Crown is a translation to English from the Chinese/Japanese names

Ive never seen one before, so its interesting to read your description, and in particular, to see a photo of a whole plant.
Has it grown much since planting? Any more blooms?

I planted it only a few weeks ago. It adapted itself very well. At this moment its height is plusminus 40 cm, but it can reach one meter.
