Brinken Wood, New Forest

This fir tree in the Brinken Wood area of the New Forest has a very interesting profile.

It's almost like it's being blown by a cross-wind from the right, but in actual fact there are no branches at all on that side of the tree.  And it was a perfectly still day at the time I took this photo anyway.

Not sure exactly what has happened here  :-\

How strange, Laurie. And just look at that sky, you can tell that we are in the middle of a heatwave  :)

I actually took that photo in January 2012 Eric.

I came across it whilst going through my library and thought it would be appropriate to show it here.

Still, not bad weather for that time of year though  ;D

That just goes to show that you can convince oneself of anything, Laurie  :)  :o
