A first sighting for Kathy and I of the hummingbird hawkmoth.
It flew into our front garden at 7.30pm yesterday, just as it was starting to get dark, and was taking nectar from our honeysuckle bush.
It stayed for about 2 minutes then flew away.
I wasn't able to get a photograph to record the moment though
I have recorded the sighting on the butterfly conservation website, as they do regular surveys to monitor their numbers and migration patterns.
