Lost payees
« on: January 30, 2017, 04:36:22 PM »
Suddenly today my Bank Genie Pro comes up with no suggestions at all when I  :'(type in the payee space for a debit.
Any ideas please. This has never happened before and I haven't done anything to it that I am aware of. Most peculiar and not a little irritating.

Hi Christopher

If I have understood correctly, then the answer is in the Bank Genie Pro 4 User Guide for that page.
http://www.bankgenie.net/UserGuide/421/BS421S03/bs421s03.html#Predictive

On that page, in the Use Predictive text checkbox section you'll find a link to this screenshot:
http://www.bankgenie.net/UserGuide/bs421s03-14-predictive.gif

Referring to that screenshot, I suspect you may have accidentally unchecked the Use Predictive Text checkbox.
Is that so?

Please reply here to let us know if that fixes the problem.

Hi George
that is exactly what I have done. I didn't realise there was a separate check box on the debit screen in addition to that on the main screen.
Thankyou.
It's still a great programme even if I miss a direct link to the payees to see a list of all the business I have transacted with just them.

Excellent! Glad it was that easy!

It's still a great programme even if I miss a direct link to the payees to see a list of all the business I have transacted with just them.
In the program Transaction Analyser (BS408) select a date range and click Selection Screen for more filter options.
Click the Go button to generate a list of transactions.
Then click the Search button.
That takes you to screen BS408S06.
Use the Search in popup and select Search within Paid to/Received from.
By searching on a Payee, you can easily isolate a list of those transactions.
Does that do the job for you?

Ive done more work on the Search feature in the Transaction Analyser program in Bank Genie Pro
Available to all soon in new version I am working on (Bank Genie Pro 5/Bank Genie 5)
Look ot for announcements on this forum.

Just mentioning that last month mine did the same, the predictive text was off when i go to enter a payee in a debit, i know i did not switch it off, i always have it on, i thought weird, has there been an update that could have caused it?

No Phil. There have been no related updates.

Currently, the checkbox is just below the Add button.
As you know, I'm working on Bank Genie Pro 5.
In Pro 5, Ive modified that screen today and moved the Use Predictive text checkbox away from the Add button. Its now relocated just above the Use Predictive text checkbox checkbox.
Hope that helps :D

Perhaps - it was a bit close and it looks like that's what was happening.
