Son, I take it for granted you're NOT going to discriminate all mankind not having the privilege of living on these greaaaat Islands of yours! (Uk, UK!) My last hair makes already a stand-up when I hear my granddaughter reading aloud from the garden magazines all the advantages one gets with them: bulbs, plants, books for nearly nope and then those little letters you have to read by aid of the Hubbles-telescope: 'for UK-residents only'!! Simply a pool between us and Them and nevertheless.... But all said, all good: after a lot of years in this life I can say it lets me indifferent....., although I keep saying it is not fair. I could say more, but there are things one just not mentions...

No need to be shocked old boy. Just pulling a leg right or left, you know, nothing better to do during these icy days in the resthouse. By the way: how far is your sowing of the seed I sent you? Don't tell me you didn't have the time yet to put them in the soil.

You'll not believe this!
I have some sown, already. Three weeks ago today. (on Sat 14th Jan)
Now, when I lifted those packets and took them out to the greenhouse, I might be wrong, but I think I felt them shivering!
When I opened the packets, I thought the packets were empty, but then the teeth chatering gave them away and I found them hiding in the corners.
Not to be deterred, I prepared a few trays and got a sprinklin.

So, heres whats shivering out in that greenhouse:

Rudbeckia Goldstrum
Echinacea purpurea

Checked today. No sign of germination yet. Now, theres a surprise!

I decided not to sow any more until mid to end feb.

What have you and Harry sown?

Yes, but not much: some Libertia peregrinans, some sedum, and Camassia leichtlinii. All on a heated windowsill. The first two do it rather well, the Camassia very modest.
As you can read in the sowing directions in the Jelito catalog it's not always an easy matter to find out the best circumstances. The cold-germinators f.i. must be kept warm about +18 to +22°C) and moist directly after sowing during the first 2-4 weeks. After this period the sowing must be kept at a cold temp. (between -4 an +4°C) for another 4-6 weeks. Perhaps it's also a question of trial and error, don't you think.

               In reply to your enquiry at the moment I am consentrating on pansies/violas and have 10 trays in my 2 propagators and there are 3/4 trays in the greenhouse for transplanting as you can see from my sowings I love these plants there are pansies in the greenhouse from a late sowing last year that are just beginning to flower (lovely little plants) anyway have to go it's time for a brew

Update on the seed I sowed in Jan
I checked today, and I have some little seedlings!
First to appear are Papaver Meadow Pastels.
I see a tiny little seedling in the Primula vialii tray! Fingers crossed!

Update Update!

Ive had my first flower from the seed exchange program. 
Viola Bowles Black, one of Harrys haul, burst into flower this week. Ive 2 planted, both in flower, and I still have some large seedlings in the seed tray (they germinated at different stages).
Heres a photo of the little beauty. Its difficult to photograph! I took some last night, and all I got was a black blob in each photo. Took another 4 this evening, and got this reasonably good one (below) Thanks Harry - just to let you know I am very grateful for your generosity.
Shown here with Euonymus fortunei 'Emerald 'n Gold' and Lobelia (I have TONS of Lobelia, all from one packet, so whats left over from the baskets and contaner is planted at front of borders and as fillers. Its VERY useful.
The combination is actually quite nice in "reality".

The Delphinium grandiflorum (I LOVE that little plant) is full of promise - buds are just about to open - perhaps tomorrow.
Ive a half dozen or so of them.

I planted out some of Andres Rudbeckia and Echinacea yesterday evening. I dont expect them to flower this year. What do you think?

Heres a lovely little plant from the same batch of seed from Harry.
Delphinium grandiflorum Summer Blues

As the name implies, its a very light bleu, quite distinctive from the species.
It has a small pale brown spot on each petal, similar to the markings on a ladybird poppy. Unusual plant.

That Viola 'Bowles Black' plant is right beside it (left).  As you can see, they are about 6ins tall, about the same height as the upright lobelia in the pic. I have another 'Summer Blues' in the greenhouse. It has a long 10in or so stem, and in flower.
