Lytes Carey Manor, Somerset.

Lytes Carey Manor was the home of Henry Lyte, a medieval herbalist and the garden still grows the plants he cultivated. It is really worth a visit if you are ever in Somerset. We have visited at least four times and have enjoyed it every time. Here are some views: -

Incidentally, how many photos (approx of course) do you take on such a visit?

I like how you throw in a few photos of the flowers in each visit.
Theres a challenge in there for us. Name those flowers. Lets do that.

Photo 3 is an Achillea, but don't know which one, the leaves give it away (lower centre in picture below) if you look closely at Erics picture.

Sorry George, I didn't reply to this question of yours.

The number of photos I take varies a lot. I took almost 60 at Eastleach that I posted recently. Hatfield House (which is still to come) I took aboot 80 shots. Doddington on the other hand which I also posted you are seeing about three quarters of all my shots. I usually take details of the architecture and a few general shots of the garden and a detail of one or two plants that take my fancy. Nothing very systematic.

Now I have started posting them here I will have to become a bit more methodical
