Tooth implant
« on: January 09, 2010, 07:44:22 PM »
The appointment for the tooth implant is tomorrow, 10:00 am

As mentioned in other thread, its a 2.5 hr "op".
Not looking forward to that at all!

Its a replacement for my right eye tooth ( it was extracted in 2002) so theres been a long gap in many respects.

Glad you can afford it. I looked at the cost when I had the last lot out and shuddered. Hope it goes ok for you.

Good luck George! They are very good these days and I hope it goes well. When I was a boy our dentist wasn't even qualified and my grandfather had a tooth extracted by a quack in the market place on market day!!  ::)

Home again, job done (at least the implant is inserted)
No pain worth talking about due to the sedation and local anesthetics.
Not yet at any rate and the freezing is almost worn off.
I have to take pain killers and penicillen for a few days in case of infection as that can cause the implant to be rejected.
Then it has to settle for 3 months before the tooth can be fitted.
Glad that bit is over!

I bet you are George! Are you allowed a wee dram of single malt to anaesthetise the senses?

All the best

Eric

Glad you got through that stage okay George.

Take it easy and look after yourself.

A little bit of alcohol for medicinal purposes (when you're allowed it) will go down nicely.  ;)

Laurie.

No Eric, the sheet for aftercare says no alcohol  >:(
Normally not allowed when taking antibiotics.
So, I'll be a good patient and conform! That enticing bottle of Glenlivet is sitting here unopened Laurie, but no doubt there will be an occasion soon ;)
