Genus, Garden areas and printout
« on: April 20, 2010, 06:52:42 PM »

I may well have asked this before, but cant remember or find it with a search on the forum. ;D

We have 60 plus Lillium in the garden, and of course on the database.

What I would like to do is run a search, which I can do in GA004S01 for a genus, and then print a report showing the garden areas for each cultivar.

Ok George now put me to shame, that I cannot find a way of achieving this.  ::)

I dont see any way of doing that as yet Malcolm.

Where (in which program) do you think I should add that feature?

I guess the obvious place to add that would be My Plants GA034S01 but it has no search buttons and not a lot of room on the page to accomodate that.

GA037S01 has a search but little room for another button

So I am suggesting GA004S01 as the search is there and there is room for another button.

But only you would know where it would be easiest to add this in the software.

But please do not add this feature just for me.

As you know I try to keep our Database as up to date as possible and have been checking plant labels with a growing plant in the garden, against the database for the last 6 weeks on and off. The capability to print a genus and then go and find the plants in the garden would be usefull. I also of course use the Print plants by garden area.

I think it would be of general interest Malcolm, and well worth providing.
Thanks for your suggestions. I could also add it as a new report. I'll look at it all later.

Somewhat belatedly I know, but just to add support for the idea posted by Malcolm and GA004S01 certainly does seem the logical place for the facility. Linking that to the kind of info that features in Specimens might be useful.

I hope to get back to Gardening software again soon (after I have finished the long and drawn out development of Bank Genie Pro)

I'll be doing an upgrade to IG Pro to bring it up to the standards I have developed in BG Pro.
I cant wait to get to that "little" job  :)

Keep thinking of things you'd like and I'll do what I can to oblige ;)
