A New WPG project.
« on: January 29, 2011, 04:12:53 PM »
I have been trying to create a new set of Web pages based on the visit to our garden by a group of alpine enthusiasts in May 2009. I should have done it then, but never got round to it and then had virtually a year off in 2010. Entered all the pictures and now editing the text. Boy is it hard work!

Thats fantastic news Eric.

People take websites for granted. Its not until you do one yourself that you discover the amount of work behind each page.
Its tedious, but such a thrill when you get it online :)
Let me know when you are ready for that exciting stage.

Ok. I have finished the project and managed to upload it to the server. I put it in the folder berghill with AGT (August Garden Tour.) Only took 3 hours too!  ;D. So what next?
If that is the wrong place then I hope you can move it easily.

Ok I am confused  :(  I thought this post you posted today (above) was what you were after.

Ok. I have finished the project and managed to upload it to the server. I put it in the folder berghill with AGT (August Garden Tour.) If that is the wrong place then I hope you can move it easily.

I Uploaded the Folder CoachTrip into the folder called berghill. It already contained one called AGT which is the August Garden Tour. That one was done a long time ago.
I have tried to look at the new one but the Server cannot find it so I assume that it needs to go into a new folder on G's Server that G. will have to create for me.
'Twas just an ixperiment!

www.ideasforgardens.net is now on a new server.
I thought the old server was decommisioned, but its obviously still active.
I used CuteFTP to open the old server and I have found your folder.
I'm downloading it now, and will then upload it to the new.
If all goes well, it will be on line very shortly

Success all round :D

Well done Eric.
You did it 100% correct on the old server.
Ive had a look and I have tto say it is an excellent job. Photography and details are first class!

Use the details I sent by email for any updates, and for adding your next WPG ;).

The new server has loads of space, so if anyone else feels inclined, please send me an email.

Yes I agree, a job well done Eric. In publishing the WPG, and looking after, what looks like a huge garden. ???

George you mentioned you thought the old server was decommisioned. We still have a website from 2003 that was supposed to have the plug pulled.
I have put a redirect on it, we still get a few visitors from it to the present site. ;D

Brilliant. Thank-you  so much. I have some other pieces which I will have a go at when the weather turns bad again and the decorating of the house is finished.

Keep them coming Eric. I'm delighted you have managed the process. You can do as many WPG projects as you like.
I'll link your WPG from the home page ASAP.

I'd much prefer if it was decommisioned, Malcolm. Too confusing - typified by the ambiguity experienced by Eric.
It was a shared server,so its still going for other customers, I suspect, and my allocated space hasnt been wiped.

Yes, I can connect to it Malcolm, and Eric has FTP's to it :)
I will ask Easily to clear it, rather than waste time.
