The forum spell checker
« on: October 29, 2011, 07:27:59 PM »
Is it just me, or do others find the spell checker needs to be clicked a few times before it does its job?

I find it gives a blank page in its window and says "Done" at the bottom.
I have to click a few times before it loads my message into the checker window, and begins to highlight any errors.

To be perfectly honest George I've never used the spell checker on the Forum.

Only when I type a long or unusual word I've not used for a while which I'm not certain about do I check it.  But I have a separate dictionary/thesaurus program on my PC that I use for that purpose.  I just highlight the word, click the program icon in my Taskbar and it checks it immediately.

Having said that though, I've just used the Forum Spell Check facility before posting this message and the first pop-up screen I got was saying that Internet Explorer could not display the web page I'd requested.
I closed the box and pressed the Spell Check button again and it did the check and reported everything was correct.  ???
There's definitely something not functioning correctly with it.  Maybe the new S.M.F. upgrade will sort it out.

It would be interesting to hear from our other members to see if they have experienced any anomalies.
