Well three weeks ago, Laurie, I was due in hospital for a hernia op. Of course it had to snow. A kind friend, Heather, was going to drive me there, she was also staying the night with Anthea while I was away. She got as far as the pub in the village but the last half mile was impassable in her car. I ended up having to ask a kind neighbour with a 4x4 to get me to the village to join our friend. I got to the hospital in the on time.
Coming home the next day was almost as hairy
. I got a taxi and the driver just managed to get me to our front gate. He was a great chap and took me very firmly by the arm and together we shuffled down the slope to our front door.
