At this time of the
XXX Olympiad in London 2012, members of the Ideas Genie Forum Community from all nations are invited to bring forth their own botanical torch and participate in this event.
In the spirit of striving for excellence in your own gardens and the willingness to help your fellow gardeners achieve their goals, we are offering you the chance to be an Ideas Genie Champion.
The size of the garden does NOT matter, and is included for reference purposes only.
Large (from hundreds of square feet to acres of land),
Small (from a window box to a patch of grass or flagstoned yard),
Medium (anything in between the other two).
So, just for a bit of fun you can rate your own garden and award yourself Gold, Silver and Bronze medals in the following categories:
(1)
Location - your surroundings and exposure to sun.
(2)
Garden Design - (within the confines of the size of your garden) - flower beds and border planting, shrubbery, patios, vegetable plots, winding pathways, ponds, areas for wildlife, etc.
(3)
Variety of plants in your garden.
To get things started, this is my entry:
Garden size = Medium

(Silver)Anything in my Bronze medal position -
- no (I'm not being too critical
)
You can of course introduce your own categories if you wish. In sections where you don't achieve Gold, then there's room for improvement there and something to aim for in the future.
Don't be too critical though - it's just for fun
Laurie.
