Unknown shrub
« on: October 22, 2012, 09:40:18 PM »
I think this is either a Euonymus or a Cornus, but it may not be. There is no label on the plant (never is in my garden) and I may have grown it from seed (in which case it is Euonymus)
A name would be nice.
Sorry about the picture quality of the berry, best I could do in the rain!

Been told this is Euonymus europaeus album. In that case I definitely grew it from seed from a normal red berried one. Great addition to the shrubbery.

Glad you found the answer to that one Eric :)

Is that white surround associated with the berry? Is yours an orange berry?

The normal Euonymus fruit is a red/ orange occasionally pink berry with orange seeds which project from the underside. So the orange seed you can see is part of the berry, opened up into 3 segments as is normal.
