Frames full!

All the frames (and we have a 30 foot long run of them) are full of baby plants, the Tunnel is full of baby plants, the shade house is full of plants, her greenhouse is full of seedlings and the Cuttings frame is packed with not ready to plant up baby plants. I think I might have gone a tad over the top this year.

a lot of plants there, now i have no pictures but my greenhouse is full and my tunnel, i have plants outside aswell plus i have another 1000 plants coming in soon

The frames are even fuller now as I had to move in some more plants from outside. Got to find room for the show Auriculas yet too.
Desperate for labels too! Hopefully I can sell all the Cyclamen this next week, two sales chances coming up.

what sort of labels are you looking for, i got mt t bed labels off ebay the cheapest place i could find for them

3" white plastic ones. Trouble is that all the ones I used to buy by the 1,000 are no use to man nor beast. Nothing will write on them except the very expensive and not very permanent permanent marker pens

I got fed up with finding pots with blank labels which had been marked carefully (sometimes only a few months ago) using "Permanent" markers so I made a very good investment.

Phil and I use a Brother printer.
Mine is a PT2730.

Here's the consumables I use with it:
TZ-121 - 9mm Black on Clear Laminated Tape

100mm x 19mm Stick-In Plant Tags (A roll of 1000 labels - recommended to me by Phil and a very good suggestion )

Ideas Genie Pro has a special program for printing to the Brother PT2730. It also works with Phils model.
The process is:
Break off individual labels from the roll.
Print the Plant info with PT2730 on the laminated labels. Choose option to print in a chain, or individually.
The chain of tape produced can then be cut up to make the individual laminated plant labels.
Peel off the backing strip of the laminated labels.
Stick to the Stick-In labels.

It may look a bit expensive, but the labels are really durable. One year on and the labels I used outside are like new. Greenhouse or your tunnels they will last very well.

yes those are the label printers the tz tape i found is cheaper from ebay the initial investment isnt to bad i have had labels that are still as readable since we started a trial got to be a good 4 years i have been using them they dont peel and the writing doesnt fade i have a write up somewhere on the forum will find it out

Don't know what you are seeing, but if its the PT2730 then £66 its a good price Eric.

So with the machine and tapes and labels you are talking of nearly £100 for the equipment.
I can get 1,000 labels for about £12.50 plus a 50 pence pencil. And when the plant dies I can re-use the label with a bit of wire wool. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm. economics.

Still holds true, the ones I USED to buy are no good. Hopefully the ones I am trying to buy will be better. If not then out with the wire wool to remove the shiny surface.
Funnily enough the cheapo thinner than thin ones from Wilkinsons are actually the easiest to write on. BUT our shop has put away all the garden stuff until January.
