Undefined transactions
« on: June 10, 2014, 03:13:17 PM »
Why are some of my transactions in transaction analyser "undefined" when they have both a category and sub category ? It's only some of them and I can't see how they differ from those with no similar comment.

Hi Christopher

That text is coming from the Transaction Details field (previously called the Spent on field). Its another field for you to enter data, and not in any way related to Categories and Sub Categories.

Earlier versions of Bank Genie:
Each time you added a transaction, Bank Genie inserted the text To be defined in the transactions details field.
Following "suggestions"  :D by some users, I removed that.

In your example:

Edit one of those transactions.
If it says To be defined- Auto Entry, then its coming from the program where you import Downloaded statements (BS412).
Read the section Default text for SPENT ON on this page of the User Guide:
http://www.bankgenie.net/UserGuide/412/412.html#SpentOn

Finally, a tip:
I also made it easy for anyone who had "default" text in older records to remove it.
Click into the Transaction Details field. The default text will disappear.
Leave it blank or enter your own text. Save changes.
