Thank you, George. Everything looks nice in the Spring. It's the rest of the year that I struggle with.
I love that creek! That makes a perfectly natural feature in your garden
Does it dry up in Summer time?
I love the creek, too, and have tried lots of plantings, but they eventually get drowned out and/or washed away. We get so much rain that the creek floods at least once a year, sometimes twice. Our bridge is tied down so it won't float away. On a good flood we'll get 3 to 4 feet of water. Sometimes our house is surrounded by thigh-deep water. It's never come in the house but it's been inches away. Gets rather exciting at times, as we usually have maybe an hour's warning and we have to run around and batten things down, turn the cows out onto the hill, make sure the cats are all chased up into the hay loft, etc. The barn is lower than the house so it often gets 4 feet or so of water. A little disconcerting to have wooden boxes full of apples floating by.
