Snow!

We woke up to a good 2 ins of snow this morning. I was out at 8 o'clock brushing a path and brush clearing some patches to ground feed the birds. They arrived in droves!

It took my son an hour and a half to get to school - twice the norm.
Sun is shining as I write (midday) so I hope this clears quickly.

...and the white as snow cat had a blackbird pinned down 
My neighbours have six of the creatures . They are never allowed into their house. They seem to spend most of their time in my garden
I feed the birds just outside the office window so I can watch out for them.
I usually spot the cats sneaking into a hiding spot and chase them off.
"Snowy" is usually easy to spot, but its in its element with this layer of snow for camouflage.
Superman charged to the rescue in haste 
Ive walked all around the garden but see no sign of cats or bird bodies!
I heard a distressed blackbird in the hedge. I hope it escaped, but it could be its mate.
The birds are all back in droves as I write. C'est la vie for birds

More snow!
We woke up to a good 3 ins this morning.
Started at around 4pm yesterday making it really dangerous for folk travelling home form work.
Naomi needed rescuing (fortunately walking distance from home) by Julian (and James ) but all arrived home safely. They are working from home today.

Ive cleared feeding areas for the birds and they are gathered in droves to eat the welcome seed.
I'm looking out for " Blondie" - that rare white headed Chaffinch I spotted last snowfall (16th Jan).
It made a fleeting visit and I haven't seen it since.
The word seems to be getting around the neighbourhood, judging by the droves arriving here, so I'm hopeful!
