Need help getting started - Garden
« on: May 20, 2016, 04:32:52 PM »
Ideas Genie Garden software is a very powerful and useful program.  I hope to get all my plants in my gardens entered.
Problem ….I can’t find a current tutorial.  Very difficult to get up to speed with no written guidance.
George gave me a call to get me started.  I was out of town and could not put his help to use for 5 or 6 days and thus it has slipped away.
Still need help.

Welcome to the forum Jack.

I'll summarise the "Getting Started" items we ran through when I phoned you - as soon as I get time.
It was a fairly long call considering it was from Ireland to USA.
I prefer to use Facetime or Skype to support our users outside the UK and Ireland.

Meanwhile, concentrate on the program Plants and Gardens.
Its under the Programs tab on the Ideas Genie Pro 6 menu.
Right click on the Add a plant button.
A shortcut menu appears offering three methods of adding.
We used Method 2 as it allows you to explore the Master Database.
In screen GA100S00, enter Genus name, select a Genus from predictive text list.
Then click List all button.
If you can find the plant you are looking for (in the Master Database) then click the Add new Plant button at the bottom of that screen (GA100S00).
That takes you to screen GA100S01 where you can manually enter the name of your plant.
