getting logged out
« on: March 21, 2007, 02:31:07 AM »
Hi George,

I am getting really frustrated with the way the forum works.
I was just trying to post something about using the IG-Pro for the Vegetable garden. So after I wrote everything down, finnished, and clicked preview. The forum wanted me to log back in, although I had logged in earlier. So I logged back in, but then my message I was going to post, had disappeared. So now I lost it all. That is the second time in two days all my writing is lost.
Is there a time limit for being on the forum? Or is it just a setting, I am not aware off?
Anyway, I'm really frustrated that keeps happening. So now, I feel like I wasted the last hours away.
Maybe that's a reason some people are not posting. they want to, but keep losing their messages.
I know, it will keep me from posting, since it is a waste of my valuable time.

Anyway. Now I am too tired to try again.

Isabell

I understand your frustration exactly  >:(
Its happened to me, but not on this forum.
It always happens when you have just written a masterpiece, of course. Youve spent ages writing, go to post, and it fails.

On this forum, there is a switch when you log-in.
The default is something really silly, like 30 mins.
You can change that value.

Theres another checkbox at log-in - Forever
I use that. Result? No nasty surprises!

Another tip, if it happens here or on another forum.
After it fails, use the Back button on your browser.
The window with your message may re-appear.
You can then Copy it and save it - to WORD, Notepad etc, login again and post.
