backup security

the backups need to have several generations for better safety (and maybe they should be taken automatically to ensure there is always a reasonably recent fallback?).

Since the original posting in this topic, a new version of Bank Genie has been released and the backfall subject has been addressed .

Bank Genie 4 and Bank Genie Pro have been designed with a Database Stamp feature.
This allows Bank Genie to keep track of your backups recording vital information - backup date, device used etc.
It also allows you to flexibly manage your own rotational backup system.

When you do a backup, or a restore, Bank Genie displays the list of known backups, displaying the vital information (above) in date order.
The idea is that this allows you to maintain as many backups as you wish for your backfall.
If (say) you reach 5 backups (a backfall number you are happy with) you can overwrite the one with the oldest date each time you do a new backup - and since Bank Genie clearly displays the backup dates this simplifies your decision making.

You can read more on the Bank Genie User Guide. Here's your cue:

Note:
The current Password details are stored in Backups (if you are using password security).
If taken to another computer, the Password details must be entered to open the database.
