Ants
« on: October 12, 2007, 10:53:17 AM »
Ive noticed a dramatic increase in the Ant population in my garden.

Here I am nonchalantly weeding away, and suddenly the place is swarming with those little creatures. The first sighting seems to coincide with the first bite - they take no time at all to attack me for wrecking their home.

I have to abandon ship and return later, and finish the job in stages, a few minutes at a time.

Is it just my garden? Anyone else having infestations?

We did have a lot until the hens went out again. They often dig up the nests and eat the larva.

I suppose theres a two-fold benefit there, Eric - in the process they probably do a bit of weeding.
Do hens eat slug eggs?
