The wildflower meadow is finished
« on: May 20, 2008, 05:14:07 PM »
It has just been completed today
The promised seed had never arrived, so I telephoned and cancelled, and then drove 120 miles to collect seed from another source
Local farmer then sowed, harrowed and rolled and finished the job this afternoon
It was important to get it done before it started to rain .... it kept the roads clean, and rain is promised tomorrow so the seed will get settled in well :)
Now all we have to do is wait until the grass and flowers appear
Apparently for the first year only the annuals will show, with the perennials appearing the second year along with the annuals that have re-seeded themselves
I can already hear the butterflies and bees clapping and cheering raptureously (and if that isn't a word it should be :))

Nice one Billy.  It's a shame you were badly let down by that first supplier and having to drive so far to get what you wanted.

At least you can put the one that let you down on your blacklist never to shop with them again.  :(

Anyway, you've got the job done and now you can just sit back and relax and wait for the fruits of your endeavours to blossom.  ;D

We look forward to seeing some photos as your meadow progresses.

Laurie.
