Was able to listen to parts of Scott Conner?s radio talk-show last Saturday, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 pm. Talk-shows are not my favorites, but what I heard seemed to be very professional and well done. In the 2-hour show, he must have fielded 10 to 12 call-ins from gardeners in the local area. Topics included pruning an over-grown Strawberry Kiwi vine, a diseased Japanese Maple, problems with the start of a Pear Tree, ?Grubs?, how to get rid of Raccoons, etc. Mr. Conner?s wife also participated by coaching him on some of the topics.
However, in this day of high-tech, I think there would be better ways of providing this type of information. I would prefer to take a quick photo of the diseased Japanese Maple, post it on this Forum, and have the experts take a look and offer advice. Is there a doctor in the house?
But still, Mr. Conner would be a great friend to have for Ideas Genie. He must have a large listening audience and able to satisfy their requests or they wouldn?t keep calling him.
