User Guide - Session 3

 

 

Working with Plants - using Program FG037
In this session you will learn how to

 

 

  • Add plants to your database
  • Link plants to Garden Areas
  • Link plants to disc photos

 

 

 

 

 

Add a plant to your database

 

 

  1. Start the program: My Plants and Garden - FG037
  2. In screen FG037S01, click the Add a Plant button
  3. Screen FG100S40 appears
    Type (or paste) the name of a plant into the Plant Name field
    Enter as much information as you can about the plant
  4. Click the Add button
  5. Screen FG037S01 reappears
    Flower Genie now locates and selects the plant in the Plant list in that screen
     

 

 

 

 

 

Link a plant to a Garden Area - Method 1, using FG037

 

 

  1. Start the program My Plants and Garden - FG037
  2. In screen FG037S01, locate the plant by using the A-Z buttons.
  3. Click once to select (highlight) the plant in the list
  4. Click the Add to Garden button
  5. Screen FG037S04 appears
    Select a Gardener from the pop-up
    Select the required Garden Area from the pop-up.
  6. Click the Link (and close) button
     
  7. Screen FG037S01 reappears
    You can now click the Gardens button, and set the Gardener and Garden Area pop-ups to the setting used for the link. The linked plant will appear in the list of plants in that Garden Area.
     

 

 

 

 

 

Remove (Unlink) a plant from a Garden Area - Method 1, using FG037

 

 

  1. Start the program My Plants and Garden - FG037
  2. In screen FG037S01, click the Gardens tab
  3. Use the Gardens and Garden Area pop-ups to select the required Garden Area
  4. Click once to select (highlight) the plant to be un-linked in the list
  5. Click the Remove button

 

 

 

 

 

Link a plant to a Garden Area - Method 2, using FG038
This is a dedicated program for linking plants to Garden Areas

 

 

  1. Start the program Link plants to Gardens - FG038
  2. Plants are listed in the list box on the left of the screen
  3. Use the A-Z buttons to select a plant (if not already displayed)
  4. Now use the pop-ups on the right of the screen to select the required Garden and a Garden Area
  5. Click the arrow pointing Right
    The plant is added to the selected Garden Area and will show up in the list of plants under the Garden Area, to the right of the screen
  6. You can add a plant to more that one Garden
  7. You can add a plant to more that one Garden Area within a garden

 

 

 

 

 

Remove (unlink)  a plant from a Garden Area - Method 2, using FG038

 

 

  1. Start the program Link plants to Gardens - FG038
  2. Use the pop-ups on the right of the screen to select the required Garden and Garden Area
  3. Click the arrow pointing Left
    The plant is removed from the selected Garden Area and will be deleted from the list of plants under the Garden Area

 

 

 

 

 

Link a plant to a photo on hard disc
You can do this in FG037.
 

 

 

  1. Start the program My Plants and Garden - FG037
  2. In screen FG037S01, locate the plant by using the A-Z buttons.
  3. Click the Plant Photos button
  4. In the next screen (FG037S15), click the Add a photo (Link) button.
    This is located at the bottom right of the screen.
  5. In the next screen (FG036S16) click the 1 Find a photo button
  6. You then type in a description for the photo, and any relevant notes (camera used, date, photographer etc)
  7. Click the 2 Link button 

    This program is best if you know where the photo of the selected plant is located on you computer.
