My Garden report

  1. Start the program My Garden -  FG016
  2. Select a Garden to be printed from the Gardener pop-up
  3. You may wish to review notes you have written up for each Garden Division and each Garden Area, since the report prints this information in the report
As soon as you type into the Notes about this area text region, a Save Editing button becomes vsible
Edit your notes, and then click the Save Editing button
  4. Use the arrows on the screen to quickly review your notes for each area,
  5. Click the Left arrow to go the the Previous Garden area
  6. Click the right arrow to go to the Next Garden area
  7. Note the array of check boxes
These offer you the option to Print/Omit a number of Data fields in the database
By default, all check boxes are checked.
  8. Note the set of radio buttons which allow you the options to print a) a single garden area only, b) a single Division of your garden or c) all Garden Areas
  9. Select from the second set of Radio buttons to print a) a Preview of the report b) A draft of the report and c) The final report

My Plants Report

  1. Start the program My Plants - FG034
  2. You can select an alternative Data Source in this report e.g. you could print the list of plants in the Master Database
  3. By default, the Print all plants in this database checkbox is ticked
  4. To explore the options, click the check box: Print plants in Garden Areas only
Extra pop-ups appear, allowing you to select a Garden and All, or a selected Garden Area or Division
  5. Click the Refresh button at any time to see a VERY approximate mock-up of your report
This is quick, even if you have a large database, as the output can be limited by the value of the Lines to show field (you can change this if you wish)
  6. A Print Order pop-up allows you choose to print your report a) Alphabetically by Botanical name or b) by Plant Number
  7. Note that Flower Genie assigns a unique Plant Number to each plant you add to your database.
This Plant number never changes, so you can safely use it for reference purposes.
  8. Play with the check boxes down the left side of the screen.
Click the Refresh button to see the effect of checking/unchecking the various check boxes, prior to printing your report
  9. Note the set of radio buttons to control output. Once again, the default setting is to Preview the report.
When you click a Print button, the Preview shows an EXACT simulation of your report.
Use the windows Close button to close the Preview window, and return to this screen.
  10. Two Print buttons are provided, one for printing on A4 paper, as used in Europe, the other for printing on standard sized paper used in USA.
Other paper sizes can be provided on request. If necessary, please ask.
